Halloween Progress

Another cute picture of Sammi doing what she enjoys most.
Please forgive the fact that I didn't iron the piece. I'm using the CC that came with the chart and the suggested fabric, which is Dirty linen. The picture doesn't project the color of the fabric accurately. I'm really enjoying this piece. see you soon.

Quiet weekend

I don't remember what these little purple flowers are, but Ilove the fact that you can see the bees.

I was a quiet week end at Chez Sammi. I did some weeding and couldn't help but take some more flower photos. I love the ease and beauty of day lilies. I have many different colors. Here are afew of them. I did some stitching on the Lizzie Kate Halloween design, which I will post tomorrow. Hope your weekend was what you wanted it to be.

Stash and Finishes

I received these little gems yesterday. ABC's of Halloween and the summer scissor fob. I will do the fob over one, so that is more in proportion to the scissors. These are both Lizzie Kate designs. I have already started the halloween design. Fall and Halloween designs are my favorites to stitch.
These are the monthly smalls by LHN. I have a frame that they pop in and out of.

This is Garden Sampler by Shakespeare's Peddler. I will have it framed at some point. I would like to thank everyone for kind comments yesterday.

Summer Beauty

Just a few shots of what I cut from some of the Hydrangea bushes in my yard. I love Hydrangeas. I had white ones at my wedding.

sammi's new friends

This is my down stairs bathroom. I put up a brighter shower curtain and window curtain for the summer. Apparently, Sammi has decided that she needs to sleep with the puppies and kitties. It is kinda cute!

This Garden Sampler by Shakespeare's Peddler. I did it on 32 ct. Pearled Barley by LSL and the fibers are GA It's alot of fun to do, once you get by the mistakes in the chart. Sorry the pics are dark.

Sammi doing what she does best

After a busy Saturday, at the South Shore Plaza looking for something to wear to Joanne's nieces wedding in July. I don't go to malls that often for so many reasons. Ordering on line is so much easier. We did stop had dinner at Panera's. Any meal I don't have to cook is a good meal. The pic's of Sammi is how we spent Sunday. She slept and I stitched. Isn't she the cutest dog. Notice her tongue sticking out. So turned out to be a great 3 days at Sammi's house.

Busy Week-end in my world

My friend, Joanne took Friday off from work. We decided to go to Plymouth for the afternoon. The weather was great and as always, the scenery was beautiful. Those pictures are not what I am going to talk about. For me, the food was what the day was about. The first pic was a new restaurant in Plymouth, Patrizia's. The food was really excellent. I had shrimp that was marinaded in lemon tarragon sauce and grilled served on arugula with forrcachia bread. Jo had eggplant was equally as wonderful. We walked around enjoying the day as well as window shopping.

Before we left, we stopped at one of my favorite places. Cupcake Charlies. The picture of the cupcakes is lousy and it uploaded twice, but the are the best. We got a carrot cake, a raspberry dream, chocolate meets vanilla and a hostess mostess. A great day was had by all.

Thursday Night Stitching

I must give equal time to my other stitching group. This great group of women have been together almost 6 years. We have always met on Thursday night. First, at the store and now at either Joannes or Jeannes house. We all love stitching and that what brought us together but we are really about the friendship and the food. Every week someone brings either a sweet or a savory dish. Tonight it was Linda's turn. She brought a cranberry pie. It was excellent. Had a lovely flavor of almonds and cranberry. We finished it off. Sorry that I don't have any pics of the stitching.

Home Repair

I have been home repair hell. Comes to find out that we had a leak in the wall. I have a great contractor who took out the wall, part of the floor and part of the ceiling. The plumber came to day and fixed the pipe. It was a quick and easy fix. The people that I bought the house from added the family room about 11-12 years ago. When doing the construction they put a nail into the pipe. The leak was small but considering that it has been leaking for that long, the damage was bad. He has to replace alot of the wood in the wall, some of the sub flooring and part of the hardwood floor. Then fix the wall and ceiling, as well as paint. Why do we even buy houses. It could be so much easier to rent.

Framed results

The framer called and I went right over and picked up these beauties. Simple joys by LHN is in a black frame with little nubs that are in a cranberry color that matches the cranberry in the design perfectly. I am sorry that the picture isn't that good. The other picture is 3 of the Anniversary series from BBD. They all will pop in and out of the frame. Again, the picture doesn't show the color of the fabrics. One is done on Autumn Blush, one is on Tundra and one is on Cream. I love how they all turned out.

The mail brought some wonderful things yesterday. When I am sewing by Drawn Thread. I need to order the silks for that. I do have the lovely blue fabric. The other two designs are by Touricoton from France. One is design of violets and the other is garden design.

Summer Beauty

This a Shakespeare's Peddler Make-Do kit. It worked very quickly and was fun to do. Cheryl made it into a pillow for me. I showed it off at my stitching group today.

Flowers

This past week-end was rainy and cold. Not so great for yard work but fabulous for stitching. I am almost done with LHN July and August. Today was spent in the yard. I mowed and weeded. The results are well worth all the hard work.

Patriotic pillows

This is what Cheryl and I did on Thursday. Iam happy with the Liberty Lane pillow but we are going to change the Blackbird design pillow. I do not do well with a sewing machine, that's where Cheryl comes in. She loves to sew and make quilts. I pick fabrics and do the grunt for her. We have worked on some beautiful quilts and table runners over the years. The quilt under the pillows was one that I purchased at a little quilt store in PA many years ago. I drag it out every July.

Stash

The mail brought wonderful things yesterday. A great kit from La-D-Da, ABeeC Sampler from Country Cottage, 2 Just Nan pins and 2 Make-Do Kits from Shakespeares peddler. One of them isn't shown because I am working on it. I will post it when I am finished.

This building was the old library. The building is great and has wonderful character. They treat fabulously. They have tables set up and usually know what we want to drink and eat. We laugh and carry on and the stitching does interest the other patrons. We (Cheryl, Ellen, Nataly, Dianne, Nancy, Phyllis, Liz, Dottie and moi couldn't have found a better place to meet.

Wednesday stitching

When I had the store, I started 2 stitching groups. One during the day on Wednesdays and one on Thursday nights. When I told the groups that I was closing they both decided to stay in tact. The day group needed a central place and we wanted to involve food. We found a lovely coffee house in a neigboring town.

Tuesday, June 8, 2010

This simple joys by Little House. I used 32 ct cream lugana and the suggested fibers. I just love every thing about this piece. I am going to take it to the framer tomorrow. I will post again when I pick it up.

Simle joys

This is Sammi. She is a very important part of my family. She was adopted 16 years ago. If you ever when to my store you already know her. She went to the store with me everyday and thought that she was the sales associate a store could have. I didn't have the heart to tell that the barking could get annoying.

Time to meet Sanni
